"On the occasion of International Women's Day, the United Nations Association of Trinidad and Tobago (UNATT), wishes to place on record the very sterling leadership by its women, in the Association's 19-plus years of active service.

Helen Drayton grabbed the mantle as president of UNATT, at a time when she held a distinguished leadership position at a commercial bank (its only female director). She brought style and systems and a passion for excellence to the work of the Association.  Around her was a team of mixed experiences, individuals who were proud to present to the  public and to academia, insights into the work of the United Nations. Helen enhanced the profile of Trinidad and Tobago as a United Nation's Association, and her leadership won international acknowledgement when she was elected a Vice President of the World Federation of United Nations Associations.

Grace Talma - strong, driven and purposeful. Grace served as UNATT president for many years. She is a management guru, par excellence and has maintained that prestigious rank for decades, while educating herself and others in the disciplines associated with her field of endeavour. Those qualities have worked to the immense benefit of UNATT, as Grace has demonstrated leadership in many fields, both locally and internationally. Lately, through her foresight, we have established a relationship with the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Training Institute, itself led by an exemplary woman, Dr Patricia Butcher..

Women's empowerment was not created by UNATT; instead we are proud to say that our empowered women have led by example.

Each year, UNATT joins with women globally to pay tribute to its women members and to all women, in all walks of life. In 2016 we give Trinidad and Tobago our leading ladies."
