| UNATT UN WORLD FOOD DAY 2017, COMMEMORATION AT UTT VALSAYN CAMPUS.

The United Nations Association of Trinidad and Tobago UNATT, commemorated UN World Food Day 2017 at the University of Trinidad and Tobago Valsayn Campus on Monday October 16th, with a wide participating audience comprising of students and staff of the institution.
UN World Food Day is celebrated annually on October 16th by over one hundred and fifty countries worldwide. People around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate hunger from our lifetime and to raise awareness, as highlighted in UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG #2), specifically, to achieve "Zero Hunger"
The UN Theme for 2017 is "Invest in Food Security and Rural Development"
In Trinidad and Tobago, the United Nations Association of Trinidad and Tobago, UNATT, staged the event on October 16th, at UTT, Valsayn Campus, in order to involve the students who are mostly training to become School Teachers in primary, secondary and other educational institutions in Trinidad and Tobago. The event highlighted discussions relating to proper Nutrition, Food Production, Agriculture, Farming, Good Health, Well-Being and Healthy Life Styles. The event at UTT, also included Nutritious Food Sampling from Chef Angelo Hart, student of the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute, TTHTI, and a very informative and lively interactive presentation on the essentials of Agriculture Preservation and Farming, from UTT Student and University of West Virginia Scholarship Recipient, Crystal Ettinne-Sandy. The event also included video presentations on the UN World Food Day Theme Food Security and Rural Development, and also, an Exhibit of SDG, Sustainable Development Goals, Posters and Materials.
